Heard the parties. Petitioner has been made accused in connection with N.D.P.S. Case No. 81 of 2024, corresponding to NCB Crime No. 06/ NCB/ RANCHI/ 2024, for the offences registered under Sections 8(c), 15(c), 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act, pending in the Court of learned Special Judge (NDPS), Ranchi. On 08.08.2024 at about 2:15 A.M., NCB, Ranchi intercepted a truck bearing registration No. BR-02-GA-4481 from a place near Hesmi Toll Plaza, Mandar. On search, more than 4,317 kgs. poppy husks were recovered from the said truck. Petitioner is the driver of the said truck. Mr. A. K. Chaturvedy, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner was transporting the seized contraband at the instance of owner of the vehicle. Considering the fact that commercial quantity of poppy husks were recovered from the possession of the petitioner, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected.
