This Court, vide order dated 20.09.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5799 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the petitioners, namely, Susmita Sahani and Hamenti Sahani, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of 06 months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Saraipali Mahasamund(C.G.) vide his request letter dated 14.05.2025 has requested for grant some more time for concluding the trial. 4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that in the present case, After VAIBHAV SINGH Digitally signed by VAIBHAV SINGH Date: 2025.06.17 19:45:34 +0530 2 receiving the order of the Hon'ble High Court, arrest warrants were issued on 27.09.2024, 09.10.2024, 22.10.2024, 07.11.2024, 20.11.2024, 02.12.2024 for pre- charge arguments and on 13.12.2024, 03.01.2025, 04.02.2025, 28.04.2025, 14.05.2025 for the presence of accused Hemant. A total of 200 NDPS and 504 other cases are pending in the special session court. An attempt has been made to resolve the case quickly by giving dates one after the other. As per the trial program in the case, evidence of 17 prosecution witnesses was recorded. The arrest warrant is being issued continuously to the accused Hemanti in the case, but due to the absence of accused Hemanti, further action could not be taken in the case. Honorable Sir, I have taken charge as Special Judge NDPS on 26.03.2025. For the first time, the case has been placed before me for hearing on 28.04.2025. The arrest warrant for the presence of accused Hemanti has been issued again on 19.06.2025 through the Superintendent of Police Mahasamund. After the appearance of the accused, after recording of evidence of 17 prosecution witnesses in the case, the statement of the accused, final arguments and defence evidence are to be taken, due to which the case could not be resolved within the stipulated time limit as per the order of the Honourable High Court. Due to this reason, it is not possible to conclude the trial within the time prescribed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of some more time for concluding the trial. 5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of three months from today. 6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 7.
