GP FOR HOME The Court made the following: ORDER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer for: “.... a Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of Respondents in opening and Continuing Rowdy Sheet No.187-C on the file of Pattabhipuram Police Station, Guntur District without any legal ground to open a rowdy sheet as required by law, without any periodical review, as illegal, arbitrary and contrary to the Standing Order No.601 of the Andhra Pradesh Police Manual and petitioner's 2 personal approaches and made a representation through registered post on 26.09.2022 and seeking to close the Rowdy sheet pending on the file of the Rowdy Sheet No.187-C on the file of Pattabhipuram Police Station, Guntur District as illegal, arbitrary and violative of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India and contray to the Andhra Pradesh Police Manual and consequently direct the Respondents to forthwith to close the Rowdy Sheet No.187-C on the file of Pattabhipuram Police Station, Guntur District.” 2. Sri Md.Farooq, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, by way of counter affidavit, would submit that there are no cases pending against the Petitioner and in view of the public interest, to curb and curtail the unlawful activities of the Petitioner in the vicinity, the impugned Rowdy Sheet was opened against the Petitioner. 3. Sri Md.Saleem, learned counsel for the Petitioner would submit that, no cases are pending against the Petitioner and hence, the impugned rowdy sheet opened against the Petitioner may be closed. 4. Considering the submissions made, the Writ Petition is allowed and the Rowdy Sheet No.187-C on the file of Pattabhipuram Police Station, Guntur District against the Petitioner is hereby set aside. There shall be no order as to costs.
