JUSTICE A. GUNESHWAR SHARMA Order 18.12.2025 [1] Heard Mr. BP. Sahu, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. DP. Sahu, learned counsel for the petitioners, Mr. Th. Sukumar, learned G.A. for the State respondent and Mr. A. Arunkumar, learned counsel for respondent No. 3 i.e. Naorem Birahari College. [2] The petitioners are the Chairman and Secretary of the erstwhile Governing Body. By the present writ petition, the petitioners pray for considering their candidature in the next election to be conducted for the new Governing Body. In this connection, the petitioners submitted one legal notice dated 19.09.2025 and reminder notice dated 27.10.2025 and it is submitted that the legal notice and reminder notice are pending with the authority. It is submitted that the writ petition may be disposed of at this stage by directing the State respondent to consider and dispose of the prayer made in the legal notice and reminder notice. [3] Mr. Th. Sukumar, learned G.A. for the State respondent, submits that the question of candidature of the petitioners will be considered at the appropriate time i.e. when the election is announced. [4] Mr. A. Arunkumar, learned counsel for respondent No. 3, adopts the submissions of the learned G.A. [5] In the circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners when the election of the Governing Body is declared and they may be considered if they are eligible as per law. [6] This Court has expressed that the formation of the new Governing Body may be expedited. [7] In terms of the above, the writ petition is disposed of. JUDGE Kh. Joshua Maring KH.
