(Oral) The petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide adequate security to the petitioner as he is under threat from a gangster on account of political rivalry. 2. It is alleged that in an incident on 03.02.2025, the petitioner was attacked and gun shots were fired on his car. 3. Learned State counsel has referred to the affidavit dated 06.04.2025, filed by PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, District Ferozepur, which is to the following effect: 10. That it is pertinent to mention here that as on date the petitioner has 4 armed gunmen in his security and SHO Police Station City Zira has also been directed to ensure the security of the petitioner as and when he is in the district. Thus, as per the fresh threat perception analysis, there is no need to deploy more security personnel with the petitioner. Apparently, the security concerns of the petitioner have been taken care of by providing four armed gunmen in his security, apart from directing the concerned Station House Officer to ensure security for him whenever he is in the district. 5. Accordingly, no further directions are called for at this stage, and the petition stands disposed of. 6. In case the petitioner has any threat in future from anyone else, he will be at liberty to bring it to the notice of the Senior Superintendent of Police, who shall take appropriate action as required in accordance with law.
