May 22, 2025 5 ARDR CRM (M) 504 of 2025 In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station Case No. 139 of 2024 dated 22/6/2024 under Sections 419/420/406/120B of the Indian Penal Code. And In Re : Ravi Kumar Agarwal @ Amit Jindal ... Petitioner. Sr. Adv. Phiroze Edulji, Adv. Anand Kesari, Adv. Priyanka Bhattacharya, Adv. Soumili Choudhury, Adv. Pubali Debnath, Adv. Anuradha Das ... for the petitioner. Adv. Debasish Roy, Ld. PP, Adv. Rudradipta Nandy, …for the State. The petitioner seeks interim bail or in the alternative, to be escorted to Haryana for participating in the last rites and other ceremonies of his father in law who has expired on 19th May, 2025. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the submission made on behalf of the parties. The petitioner seeks liberty to go to Haryana escorted by the police. Learned counsel for the petitioner is unable to explain what rites/rituals have to be performed by the petitioner for the deceased father in law. This Court is not convinced that presence of the petitioner is required for the purpose. Accordingly, the application is dismissed. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the case and this order is solely in respect of the petitioner’s visit to 2 Haryana for the purpose of participating in the last rites/rituals of his father in law. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities. (Suvra Ghosh, J.)
