The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Dhamtari (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 28.05.2025 has requested for grant of three months time for concluding the trial. 4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that in the present case, it is requested that while granting bail to the accused by the referenced order of the Hon'ble Chhattisgarh High Court Bilaspur, it was also directed that the case should be disposed of within 06 months from the receipt of the certified copy of the order. The copy of the said order has been received by this court on 07/12/2024, according to which the case was to be disposed of by 05/06/2025. At present, out of 12 witnesses in the list of prosecution witnesses, the examination of 11 witnesses has been completed and the examination of the only witness Chhannu Ram Netam is pending, for whose presence an arrest warrant was issued for today, but the arrest warrant has been received back without serving it with the report of his not being found in time, due to which it is likely that the case will take time to be resolved. Due to this reason, it is not possible to conclude the trial within the time prescribed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of three months further time for concluding the trial. 5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a 3 further period of three months from today. 6.
