ORDER
The instant criminal petition under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short Cr.P.C.,) has been filed by the petitioners/accused Nos.1 and 2, seeking quashment of the proceedings against them in Crime No.281 of 2019 of Addanki Police Station, Prakasham District.
2. Today, when the matter came up for hearing, learned Public Prosecutor has furnished a copy of instructions of the Inspector of Police, Addanki Police Station, wherein it is stated that as of now they have examined seven witnesses but however, the investigation is still in progress and charge sheet is not yet filed as the accused are absconding till date.
3. In view of the same, as the crime is pertaining to the year 2019, instead of keeping the present case pending, this Court feels it appropriate to dispose of the criminal petition by directing the Police to complete the investigation as expeditiously as possible and file a charge sheet before the competent authority, within a period of three (03) months, from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is made clear that the petitioners shall cooperate with the Police for completion of the investigation.
4. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. However, the Police are directed not to take any coercive steps against the petitioners till the charge sheet is filed.
