By the present writ petition, the petitioner prays for issuance of a writ in the nature of quo warranto challenging the appointment of respondent No. 3 to the post of Director of Instruction in Central Agricultural University after attaining the age of 65 years. Mr. T. Momo, learned senior counsel for respondent Nos. 1 & 2 has pointed out that the Registrar of CAU issued an office order dated 03-02- 2026 assigning the charge of Director of Instruction, Central Agricultural University to one Dr. N. Brajendra Singh, Professor (GPB),COA, Iroisemba, Imphal. It is submitted that in view of the subsequent order dated 03-02- 2026, the cause of the writ petition does not survive. WP(C) No. 1018 of 2025 & MC(WP(C)) No. 931 of 2025 Mr. S. Biswajit Meitei, learned senior counsel for the petitioner, fairly concedes the same. In view of the subsequent development, the writ petition is closed as infructuous leaving the question of law open to be decided by the appropriate forum.
