BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE SOUMITRA SAIKIA
ORDER Date : 28.11.2025
Heard Mr. M. Z. Shah, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. M. Kalita learned Government Advocate for the State respondents.
2. This writ petition is filed by the petitioner, who is assailed the call letter issued to the respondent No. 5 for selection and appointment, which is being undertaken as a part of the recruitment process for appointment of Anganwadi Helper at Satkura Dighipar LP Anganwadi Centre. According to the petitioner, 6 candidates applied and out of the 6, 2 were found to be eligible and 4 were rejected.
3. However, one of the rejected candidates, namely Shuaba Begum, i.e. respondent No. 5 whose application was rejected and whose name appears in the subject list has been called for interview by the authorities. The process of selection by way of interview is under way and no final results have been
Page No.# 3/4 declared.
4. The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that respondent No. 5, whose name appeared in the list of reject candidates, was called by the respondents. It is however, not disputed by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has also been called for and has appeared in the interview. Under such circumstances the present writ petitioner is before the Court. Vide earlier
order dated 22.09.2025, this Court directed that the respondents to obtain instructions.
5. When the matter is called up respondent counsels renew their prayer for further time.
6. This Court is of the view that, at this stage grievance of the petitioner is premature. The prayer made in the writ petition is seeking a direction to the respondent authorities to select the petitioner as Anganwadi Helper of Satkura Dighirpar L. P. Anganwadi Centre and to issue necessary appointment orders and further direction to cancel the candidature of the respondent No. 5.
7. This prayer at this stage according to this court is premature as the process of selection by interview has not yet been completed. The grievance of the petitioner, if any, will arise only when the results of the interview are published and the petitioner’s candidature stands rejected and the private
Page No.# 4/4 respondent No. 5 is selected.
8. This situation has not yet arisen. The respondents have also submitted that the interview process is complete and the results have not yet been declared. Under such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present proceedings in the present form.
9. The writ petition therefore stands dismissed as it is premature. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach this Court, if her grievance still persists pursuant to the results of the interview is declared by the respondent authorities for selection of Anganwadi Helper at Satkura Dighipar L.P. Anganwadi Centre.
10. This writ petition is disposed off.
