Petitioner alongwith his brother, namely, Dhayan Singh, filed a suit under Section 229 of Zamindari Abolition & Land Reforms Act, in the year 2019. Since the said suit has not been decided so far and no progress has been made, therefore, petitioner has approached this Court, seeking a direction to Court concerned to expedite hearing of the said suit. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, due to demise of plaintiff no.1 in the suit, petitioner moved an application, seeking substitution of his legal representatives, in the year 2022. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the said application is yet to be disposed of. 4. Learned State Counsel submits that one of the defendant to the suit has also died during pendency of the suit, whose legal representatives also needs to be substituted. 5. Since the suit was filed in 2019 and nearly six years have gone by, therefore, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to learned Assistant Collector, 2025:UHC:1097 Ist Class, Dehradun to make endeavour to decide Suit No.34 of 2018-19, within a period of two years from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
