Heard the parties.
The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Barharwa P.S. Case No. 183 of 2024, for the offences registered under Sections 18 (C) & 27(B) of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act and Sections 08(C)/21(C) of N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the court of Sri Akhil Kumar, learned Sessions Judge, Sahibganj.
On 15.11.2024, Barharwa Police apprehended the petitioner alongwith co-accused Manik Ghosh, while he was travelling on a motorcycle from a place near Moghalpara more. On search, 145 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and Triprolidine Hydrochloride syrups were recovered from their possession.
The quantum of seized contraband comes within the purview of commercial quantity.
Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is hereby rejected.
