Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:39592-DB Court No. - 29 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 7972 of 2025 Petitioner :- Suresh Chandra Respondent :- Union Of India And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Ritesh Kumar Singh Counsel for Respondent :- A.S.G.I.,C.S.C. Hon'ble Ashwani Kumar Mishra,J. Hon'ble Donadi Ramesh,J.
1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner's name is Rakesh Kumar but due to inadvertence it is recorded as Suresh Chandra in the Aadhar Card.
3. Prayer is made to command the respondents to process the petitioner's pending application and correct his name in the Adhar Card.
4. Learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents has invited the attention of the Court to the communication issued by the Sub- Divisional Magistrate, Bilhaur, District Kanpur Nagar dated 3rd February, 2025, whereby the petitioner has been informed of the process to be adopted for change of name in the Aadhar Card.
5. There is nothing on record to show that this process has been complied with and merely by filing an affidavit petitioner wants this Court to command the respondents to change his name.
6. Once the respondents themselves have intimated the process to be adopted for change of his name, the remedy of the petitioner would be to follow such instruction and make necessary application in the manner prescribed.
7. It goes without saying that if such steps are taken, the concerned authority shall deal with the petitioner's application for correction of his name in the Aadhar Card expeditiously.
8. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of. (Donadi Ramesh, J.) (Ashwani Kumar Mishra, J.) Order Date :- 19.3.2025 Sushil/- Digitally signed by :- SUSHIL KUMAR SINGH High Court of Judicature at Allahabad
