The challenge to the order passed by the learned Single Judge is mainly on the ground that the learned Single Judge while enhancing the compensation amount, has awarded excess amount. 3. We find that in order to enhance the compensation amount from Rs.2,00,000/- to 5,00,000/- for petitioner/workman, the learned Single Judge has taken into consideration the law laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in several decisions including the order passed by the Division Bench of this Court in the case of [2025:RJ-JP:6450-DB] (2 of 2) [SAW-907/2023] Deputy Conservator of Forests Versus Sharfuddin (D.B. Special Appeal Writ No.700/2018, decided on 20.08.2019). 4. Therefore, we are not inclined to interfere with the amount awarded, as directed to be paid by learned Single Judge. However, the amount which has already been paid to each of the workman i.e. Rs.2,00,000/- each under the award shall be adjusted. The balance amount of Rs.3,00,000/- shall be payable though without any interest within a period of one month. If the amount is not paid within a period of one month, it will carry interest @ 9%. 5.
