The case is brought before the National Lok Adalat for adjudication. The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. is represented by its duly authorized officials, namely, Mr. R. K. K. Sinha, Regional Manager and Mr. R. C. Pathak, Manager. The Claimant, namely, Rajen Borah, is present in person, along with his engaged counsel, Mr. M. Talukdar. It is submitted that the total awarded amount was Rs. 14,96,632/- (Rupees Fourteen Lakh Ninety-Six Thousand Six Hundred Thirty-Two Only). After further negotiations, both parties have mutually agreed to settle the matter for a sum of Rs. 16,17,087/- (Rupees Sixteen Lakh Seventeen Thousand Eighty-Seven Only), out of which Rs. 9,17,087/- (Rupees Nine Lakh Seventeen Thousand Eighty-Seven Only) has already been paid and a balance amount of Rs. 7,00,000/- (Rupees Seven Lakh Only) is agreed upon as full and final settlement of the claim. Page No.# 3/3 Accordingly, the Appellant/The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. is hereby directed to deposit the remaining balance amount of Rs. 7,00,000/- (Rupees Seven Lakh Only) before the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT), Morigaon, within one month from the date of this order. The Claimant, Rajen Borah, is permitted to withdraw the deposited balance amount upon proper verification and identification. The Registry to refund the statutory deposit of Rs.
25,000/- (Rupees Twenty-Five Thousand Only) to the Insurance Company. The appeal stands disposed of in terms above. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
