Learned Assistant Government Pleader furnished proceedings addressed by the District Collector/2"'^ respondent, wherein it is stated that “It is respectfully submitted that during July/August 2022, heavy rains occurred in VR Puram Mandal of ASR District, and due to the rains, flood occurred in all habitations of VR Puram Mandal. Prima facie, the relief camps were arranged for the flood victims. The rescue teams were stationed at VR Puram mandal for providing the relief measures and rescued the persons. In a view to provide the food to the flood victims as well as the Rescue teams, the Revenue Authorities engaged the petitioner to oversee and supply the food to them. Accordingly, she provided the food, and charged the bill for an amount of Rs.Rs.5,16,601/-towards the supply of the food. Initially, inter alia, the respondent-District Collector, ASR District sanctioned an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One iakh) from the funds available on receipt of the proposals received from the respondent- Tahsiidar, VR Puram vide letter dt: 21-10- 2023, by way of cheque bearing No.72001597/dt: 06/02/2024 and the same has been paid to the writ petitioner. The rest of the amount is to be paid. The Tahsiidar and staff were engaged in the flood relief and rescue operations that was taken place in Godavari- Sabari floods-2025. The deiay in payment of the balance amount of Rs.4,16,601/- to the petitioner is oniy happened due to lack of budget/funds. The payment may be made within a short period. ” \ 4 W.P.NO.17703 0 3. As seen from the last para of the written instructions, the respondents asserted that an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- was paid 1 by way of cheque bearing No. 72001597, dated 06.02.2024 and the balance amount of Rs.4,16,601/- has to be paid to the petitioner and the same has not been paid due to lack of budget and funds. 4. As the respondents have not only disputed but admitted, an amount of Rs.4,16,601/-, due to the petitioner for the work executed, therefore, the respondents are hereby directed to release the admitted amount within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Failing which, the petitioner is entitled to interest at the rate of 6%, from the date of petition, till the date of realization. 5. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, interlocutory applications, if any pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed. Sd/- M.
