Shriram General Insurance Co. Ltd. vs. Veena Devi and others CMP No. 32894 of 2025 in FAO No. 79 of 2016 05.01.2026 Present: Mr. Jagdish Thakur, Advocate for the non- applicant/appellant. Mr. H.C. Sharma, Advocate, for applicants/respondents No. 1 to 3. Mr. Mahesh Thakur, Advocate, vice Mr. Raman Sethi, Advocate, for non- applicants/respondents No. 4(a) and 4(b). By way of the present application the applicants/respondents No. 1 to 3 have prayed for release of compensation amount. Since, the appeal has been dismissed as withdrawn on 24.11.2025, there is no impediment to release the amount falling to the shares of applicants/respondents No. 1 to 3. Accordingly, the application is allowed. The amount falling to the shares of applicants/respondents No. 1 to 3 is ordered to be released in their favour by remitting the same into their Bank accounts, along with up to date interest, details whereof are given in Annexures A-1, A-2 and A-3, appended with the application. It is made clear that before remitting the amount in the accounts of applicants, the account numbers supplied by the applicants/respondents No. 1 to 3 may be verified.
Applicant Veena Devi while leading the evidence by way of an affidavit had mentioned her name as Veena Devi @ Banita, as evident from perusal of Ext. AW1/A, and also signed the said affidavit as Banita. Since, Veena Devi @ Banita is one and the same person, the amount be released in her favour. The application is accordingly disposed of.
