DISPUR GUWAHATI-19 KAMRUP METRO ASSA Advocate for the Petitioner : MR. A GANGULY, MR. TAPOBRAT CHHETRI Advocate for the Respondent : GA, ASSAM, BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY KUMAR MEDHI ORDER 17-12-2025 Heard Shri A. Ganguly, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. M. Barman, learned State Counsel. The approach to the Writ Court is with a grievance of inaction of the police in an FIR lodged on behalf of the petitioner involving the suicidal death of her son. This Court, while considering this petition on 10.12.2025 had observed that the function/role of a writ Court in matters of non-registration of FIR/delay or improper investigation are circumscribed. Be that at it may, a direction was given to obtain specific instructions on the aspect of completion of the investigation and laying of charge-sheet, if any. Ms. Barman, the learned State Counsel has submitted that in connection with the aforesaid Dispur PS Case No. 1496/2018 under Section 302 of IPC, the investigation was completed which resulted in a Final Report which was submitted on 30.09.2021. Page No.# 3/3 In view of the above, this Court is of the opinion that there may not be any cause of action that can be espoused in this Court and the petitioner, if aggrieved may approach the appropriate forum. Writ petition stands closed. The written instructions dated 16.12.2025 are made part of the records. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
