By invoking the provisions of Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023 the accused petitioner, Pranab Choudhury is seeking regular bail in connection with Dispur P.S. Case No. 908/2025, under Sections 109(1)/115(2)/308(4) BNS, 2023 and Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act, 2007. 3. The case arose out of an FIR dated 09.11.2025 lodged by own mother of the petitioner stated to be aged 90 years, with the allegation that he had been inflicting cruelty and torture upon her and even assaulting her demanding money for drinks etc. The accused was arrested on 10.11.2025. 4. In the meantime, the case diary has been received. The statement of the victim has been recorded. The I/O has revealed that reconciliation between the accused and the victim has been done and they are intending to live peacefully together. In view of the same, I am inclined to allow the bail, subject to suitable conditions. 5. Accordingly, it is directed that the accused person herein is allowed to go on bail of Rs. 20,000/- with one surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the concerned learned Court and subject to the following conditions that:- (i) That the accused person shall not inflict any pain or harassment upon his aged mother, who is also not keeping well, (ii) That the accused shall conduct respectfully and with love towards his mother, (iii) That the accused shall co-operate with the process of law. 6. In case of violation of any bail conditions, the prosecution/informant shall be at liberty to move a suitable application for cancellation of the bail application of the petitioner. Page No.# 3/3 7.
