Accordingly, the petition stands disposed of as withdrawn. It is, however, clarified that this Court has not entered into or adjudicated upon the merits of the controversy in any manner. Since an interim order of no coercive steps has hitherto operated in favour of the petitioner, it is directed that the petitioner shall remain present before the learned Trial Court on the next date of hearing and shall surrender to its jurisdiction. Upon such surrender, the learned Trial Court shall exercise its discretion in accordance with law under Section 88 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 or the corresponding provision under Section 91 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and may thereupon accept appropriate bond from the petitioner.
