JUSTICE PRANJAL DAS ORDER Date : 10-11-2025 In the context of the convict - appellant, Shri Takeng Gammi, preferring an appeal from jail against his conviction and sentence under Section 304 of the IPC, this interlocutory application has been filed seeking condonation of delay in preferring the said appeal. Pursuant to the direction given by this Court on 18.06.2025, the High Court Legal Services Committee has been appointed Mr. Domin Sora, learned Page No.# 2/2 Advocate as Legal Aid Counsel to represent the appellant. Trial Court Record has already called for in the criminal appeal. Heard Mr. D. Loyi, learned Public Prosecutor who fairly submits that the delay may be condoned. Considering the fact that this is an appeal from jail against the conviction and sentence and that a statutory first appeal in criminal law is a vital right which should not be denied - the delay of 2 Years 5 months is hereby condoned.
