The petitioners have filed this petition seeking the following reliefs:- “10.1 That this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to issue an appropriate writ, thereby quashing the impugned list (Annexure P/1) so far it relates to promotion of respondents no. 7 to 11 on the post of Assistant Sub- Inspector. 10.2 That this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to grant promotion to the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector to the petitioners on the basis of their seniority, from the date of entitlement, in accordance with law. 10.3 That, any other relief/order which may deem fit and just in the facts and circumstances of the case including award of the cost of the petition may be given.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners have claimed promotion to the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector from the post of Head Constable. He would contend that during the pendency of this petition, except petitioner No.4, all other petitioners have already been promoted to the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector in the year 2024. He would contend that the claim of petitioner No.4 has not yet been considered. Therefore, a direction may be issued to the Competent Authority to consider the claim of petitioner No.4 strictly in accordance with law within a stipulated time. 3. On the other hand, learned counsel for the respondents would oppose the submissions made by counsel for the petitioners. 4 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents present on the record. 5. Considering the limited prayer made by counsel for the petitioners, this petition is disposed of. Petitioner No.4 is permitted to make a detailed representation claiming therein promotion before respondent No.3 within a period of 15 days and in turn, the said authority is directed to consider and decide the representation in an objective manner, preferably, within a period of 90 days. 6.
