Heard Sri Satyendra Kumar Dwivedi, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State. 2. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, the petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus to allocate the remaining vacant posts of Sub Inspector, Civil Police and Platoon Commander to the selection held in respect of advertisement issued on 19.05.2011. 3. Upon a pointed query being made as to why the petitioner is approaching this Court after a lapse of 13 years of issuance of advertisement, it is submitted by Sri Satyendra Kumar Dwivedi, learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner was invited for document verification in the year 2015 and the matter remained pending before the Supreme Court. The only explanation offered for delay is that he has been making repeated representations and there are certain identical petitions pending before this Court. 4. In my considered view petitioner who has suddenly arose out of a long slumber after he was invited for document verification in the year 2015, cannot be permitted to take a plea of approaching this Court in time only for his repeated representations. Just because certain writ petitions are pending, it does not entitle the petitioner to get the delay and latches condoned. 5. In view of the above, I decline to grant indulgence in the matter.
