ORDER 18.07.2025
1. The petitioner has impugned the order dated 30th of January 2023 whereby the respondent No. 6 was appointed as Lambardar for Village Bhimgada, Tehsil Ukhral District Ramban, on the ground of violation of the Lambardari Rules.
2. The official respondents have responded to the writ petition by stating that the proposal of respondent No. 6 was recommended by the public at large and in the form of resolution dated 28th of January 2023 and the respondent No. 6 was appointed as Lambardar on the basis of said resolution only.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite order passed by this Court, the respondent No. 6 is continuing to work as Lambardar for the above mentioned village but she further submits that the grievance of the petitioner shall stand redressed in the event, official respondents be directed to conduct the election for the post of Lambardar for Village Bhimgada, within some stipulated period.
4. Mrs. Kohli, learned Sr.AAG submits that the appropriate orders may be passed.
5. In view of above, without commenting upon the legality or otherwise of the process resorted to by the official respondents for appointing the respondent No. 6 as Lambardar, the present petition is disposed of by directing the official respondents to conduct the election for Village Bhimgada, Tehsil Ukhral within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order.
