The petitioner has preferred the present petition inter alia with the following prayers:- "I. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding and directing the respondent no.3 to promote the petitioner on the post of Senior Assistant forthwith. II. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding and directing the respondent no.3 to decide the representation of the petitioner dated 07.01.2025 forthwith." 2. It is argued by learned counsel for the petitioner that though the petitioner is entitled for his promotion from post of Junior Assistant to the post of Senior Assistant due to his seniority in the department, but till date no such order has been passed by the authorities to promote the petitioner on the aforesaid post. Learned Counsel for the petitioner has also placed reliance upon a letter dated 07.01.2025 written by the respondent no.4, namely, Assistant Labour Commissioner Mau/Labour Enforcement Officer, Mau to the respondent no.3, namely, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Azamgarh Region, Azamgarh. It is further argued that though considerable time has already lapsed, but till date no decision has been taken. 3. Heard counsel for the parties and perused the record. 4. In the facts and circumstances of the case, with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of finally directing the respondent no.3 to take decision on the letter dated 07.01.2025 written by respondent no.4 strictly in accordance with law most expeditiously and preferably within a period of six weeks from date of production of certified copy of this order.
