During the hearing of the writ petition i.e., WP(C) No. 295/2022 it was submitted that a vacant post of Chowkidar was available in the concerned department under the office of the SDO, PWD (Housing) at Chen Town, Mon and that on the basis of the same, an interim order was passed on 15.12.2022 directing the respondents not to fill up the said post. As such, this Hon’ble Court vide Order dated 07.04.2024 had directed the respondent Nos. 2 & 3 therein i.e., the Engineer-in-Chief, Nagaland, Public Works Department and Chief Engineer, PWD, Govt. of Nagaland to pass

The Court further directed for continuation of the interim order dated 15.12.2022 until the post is filled up. The Court thereafter directed the respondents to carry out the order within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of the certified copy. Today, when the matter is taken up, Ms. V. Suokhrie, learned counsel appearing for all the respondents has placed an order dated 25.06.2025 by which, it is reflected that the petitioner has been appointed as a Multi-tasking Staff on land owner basis in the office of Executive Engineer, PWD, Kohima under Nagaland Public Works Department in Pay Level – 1 with Pay Matrix with all other allowances as admissible. The said office order is kept in records. The copy of the order was also given to the counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, who on perusal of the same is satisfied. Since the order of the Hon’ble High Court is complied with as has been shown by giving appointment to the petitioner to the post of Multi-tasking Staff in the said department, this contempt petition is closed and the same is disposed of.
