particularly one in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus, declaring the action of the respondents in interfering with the lawful activities of the petitioners club wherein its members and guests permitted to play the game of rummy with stakes and syndicate as illegal, arbitrary, without authority of law, and violative of Articles 14, 19, and 300-A of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondent authorities not to interfere with the lawful activities of the petitioners club and its members, and further direct that the CC cameras of the petitioners club be connected to the respondents office for observation and pass IA NO: 1 OF 2025 Petition under Section 151 CPC praying that in the circumstances stated in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, the High Court may be pleased pleased to direct the 3 to 5 respondent authorities not to interfere with the lawful activities of the petitioner’s club and its members and Connect the CC cameras of the petitioner’s club to the respondents office for observation pending disposal of the writ petition, and grant such other relief as it deems fit in the circumstances of the case. The Court made the following:
ORDER:
This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India with the following prayer:
“….to issue an appropriate Writ, Order direction, more particularly one in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus, declaring the action of the respondents in interfering with the lawful activities of the petitioners club wherein its members and guests permitted to play the game of rummy with stakes and syndicate as illegal, arbitrary, without authority of law, and violative of Articles 14, 19, and 300-A of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondent authorities not to interfere with the lawful activities of the petitioners club and its members, and further direct that the CC cameras of the petitioners club be connected to the respondents office for observation and pass.…”
2. Heard Smt. Marella Radha, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri V.Farook, Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home. 3. It is submitted by the learned Counsel for the Petitioner and acceded to, by the learned Assistant Government Pleader that the subject matter of this Writ Petition is squarely covered by the similar order passed by this Court in W.P.No.33022 of 2016 dated 13.10.2016. 4. For ready reference the operative portion of this order passed in W.P.No.33022 of 2016 dated 13.10.2016 is extracted hereunder:
“Heard the learned counsel, for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Home appearing for respondents. Both the learned counsel state that the issue raised in this Writ Petition is covered by the order dt.29-10-2015 in W.P.No.30597 of 2014. Therefore for the reasons alike, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the following directions:
1. Directing the respondent police authorities not to interfere with the card game of rummy (13 card game) whatever be the

stakes;
2. Directing the petitioner to install video cameras and record the entire recreational activities in the clubs and preserve the said data at least for a period of fortnight so that the police can check the footage. The said C.C cameras shall be connected with the jurisdictional police stations and the Office of the Superintendent of Police for observation by the police to find out as to whether members of the clubs are indulging in the activity of gambling. If any of the gaming places is not covered by С.С. cameras, it is for the police to take action. 3.
Declaring that the police are entitled to enter into the premises of the petitioner's club for taking action as per law in the event of there being any violation of the provisions of law by the petitioner and the petitioner shall not cause any hindrance to the police in exercising their statutory powers; and
4. Declaring that this order would not come in the way of he respondents from taking action as per law. 5. Declaring that any deviation of the above guidelines by the petitioner's club will be construed as violation of these orders. As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.”
5. Hence, following the said Order passed by this Court in W.P.No.33022 of 2016 dated 13.10.2016 and taking into consideration of the
facts and circumstances of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to cots.
As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
