Notice. Mr. V.S. Kanwar, learned counsel, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents.

With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the matter is heard at this stage.

The case set up by the petitioner is that he had instituted Harpal Singh Vs. HRTC2 with the grievance that his representation made to the respondent-Corporation for release of retiral benefits had not been decided. The writ petition was

disposed of with direction to the respondent-competent authority to decide the aforesaid representation within six weeks. The petitioner was thereafter compelled to institute the contempt petition bearing Harpal Singh Vs. Rohan Chand Thakur3, which was also
disposed of on 28.03.2025 with direction to the respondent to do the needful in terms of the decision in question within two weeks. The petitioner, thereafter, filed CMP No.15003/2025 in Harpal Singh Vs. Rohan Chand Thakur3 seeking revival thereof with allegation of non-compliance of the judgment. During pendency of the application, the respondent released admissible Leave Encashment and Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity benefits to the petitioner. Acknowledging release of these benefits, the application was also disposed of on 14.07.2025.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that surviving grievance of the petitioner raised in this writ petition is in respect of non-release of statutory interest to the petitioner on account of delayed payment of retiral benefits.

Considering limited prayer of the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent to release statutory interest to the petitioner on delayed payment of retiral benefits, in accordance with law, within six weeks if not already
