JUSTICE YARENJUNGLA LONGKUMER ORDER 21.10.2025 The present application under Order 1 Rule 10 read with Section 151 CPC has been filed by the petitioners praying for impleadment of the new incumbent Sh. V. Umashankar, Secretary to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India as respondent No. 7. Heard learned counsel for the petitioners. It is stated that the applicants/petitioners has filed Contempt Petition No. 12/2024 before this Court alleging willful disobedience of the order dated 18.01.2024 by this Court in WPC No. 1 of 2024. It is submitted that during the pendency of the said Contempt Case No. 12 of 2024, the previous incumbent has been transferred and Sh. V. Umashankar, has taken over the post of Secretary to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India. In view of the above, it is stated that it has become necessary to implead Sh. V. Umashankar as respondent No. 7 in the connected Contempt Petition No. 12 of 2024. Hence, the present petition. The Court has considered the prayer of the petitioners/applicants and it is seen that since a new incumbent has taken over as a Secretary to the Page No.# 4/4 Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Govt. of India and the I.A. has become necessary. Accordingly, the prayer is allowed and the petitioners/applicants is allowed to implead Sh. V. Umashankar as respondent No. 7 in the Cont. Case No. 12 of 2024. The petitioners shall accordingly filed an amended cause title and take necessary steps for service on the newly impleaded respondent No. 7 by registered post with A/D card as well as usual process.
