JUSTICE KAUSHIK GOSWAMI 22.05.2025 Heard Ms. Valentina Laldinpuii, learned counsel for the petitioners. Also heard Ms. H.C. Debora Lalnunziri, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the contemnor/respondent No. 8. Ms. H.C. Debora Lalnunziri, learned counsel for the contemnor/respondent No.8 submits that in terms of the communication received from the Under Secretary to the Government of Mizoram dated 30.07.2024 informing the office of the Addl. Advocate General, Government of Mizoram that upon Joint Verification in compliance of the direction of this Court’s Order dated 06.02.2023, it was found that there is no encroachment of the petitioner’s lands by the Home/Police Department but all the petitioners are rather the encroachers of the Departmental Land Lease DPL No. 195/1908. It is further informed that in view of the fact that the petitioners have been encroaching on Government’s lands, no further action in terms of the Court’s Order dated 06.02.2023 is required. Copy of the Order dated 30.07.2024 alongwith the Minutes of the Meeting Page No.# 6/6 in connection with the Joint Verification Report of Home Department Land at AP Tlang, Lunglei under Pass No. DPL 195 of 1980 in connection with WP(C) No. 50/2022 held on 06.06.2023 in the Office Chamber of Commissioner & Secretary, Home Department and the Joint Verification Report is kept on record and marked as ‘X’. Ms. Valentina Laldinpuii, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the Judgment and Order of this Court dated 06.02.2023 passed in WP(C) No. 50/2022 stands complied with. In view of the aforesaid endorsement made by the learned counsels appearing for both the parties, there appears nothing to adjudicate in the contempt petition.
