“(i) That the notification dated 28.9.2024 passed by the respondent No.1 may very kindly be quashed and set aside and the respondents be directed to select the petitioner for the course of B.V.Sc & A.H in sports and category for the academic session 2024-25 respondents be further directed to give admission to the petitioner in course of B.V.Sc & A.H in sports category for the 1Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment?
2 2025:HHC:24541 academic session 2024-25. (ii) That the respondents be directed to produce the entire record of the counselling-cum-registration and admission-I held on 25.09.2024.”

The grievance of the petitioner is with regard to his non-selection against the post of B.V.Sc & A.H in the respondent-University, purportedly on the ground that on the first date of counselling because the expert was not there to scrutinize the documents of the candidates, who had applied under the Sports Persons Quota, the selection of the candidate was deferred, which went to the prejudice of the petitioner as some other candidate took advantage thereof and was selected.

Today, when the matter was taken up, learned counsel for parties inform the Court that besides the fact that some other candidate has been selected against the seat in issue for the course in question and he is undergoing the course for the last one year and he is not even a party in this writ petition. In this backdrop, this Court finds no reason now to decide the case on merit.
