Respondent/s BEFORE HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE A. GUNESHWAR SHARMA Order 17.11.2025 [1] Present Mr. H. Prabirkumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. S. Nepolean, learned G.A. assisted by Mr. I. Amri, learned Jr. G.A. for the State respondent. Also present Mr. M. Rendy, learned counsel for the applicant. [2] The petitioner i.e. Manipur Hockey, approached this Court challenging the order dated 30.01.2025 issued by the Registrar of Societies, Manipur cancelling its registration. [3] During the pendency of the present petition, the Registrar of Societies, Manipur issued another order dated 10.11.2025 recalling the order dated 30.01.2025 canceling the registration of the association. [4] It is submitted that the cause of the writ petition has become infructuous due to the subsequent order dated 10.11.2025 issued by the Registrar of Societies, Manipur and it is prayed that writ petition may be closed as infructuous. [5] Mr. S. Nepolean, learned G.A., submits that he has gone through the subsequent order dated 10.22.2025 issued by Registrar of Societies, Manipur whereby the Registrar has directed the petitioner to change its name within three months and to work for amalgamation of the two rival associations of hockey in the State, keeping in mind nation sports code of “One Game, One Federation” in the interest of game, players and supporters. [6] The order dated 10.11.2025 is taken on record. [7] Considering the subsequent order dated 10.11.2025 issued by the Registrar of Societies, Manipur, the cause of the writ petition does not survive and the same is dismissed as infructuous.
