This application has been preferred by the petitioner for modification of the order dated 27.05.2020 passed in A.B.A. No.1205 of 2020 by extending the period of surrender as depicted in the said order. It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that anticipatory bail was granted to the petitioner at the time of COVID. It has further been submitted that the petitioner was Senior Manager in UCO Bank, Bermo Branch and on account of the departmental proceeding initiated against him he was compulsorily retired. It has been submitted that due to the mental condition of the petitioner and on account of the aforesaid facts he could not surrender within the time frame stipulated by this Court and therefore the delay was caused on account of the same in filing the application for modification. Learned A.P.P has opposed the prayer made by the petitioner in this application. In view of the fact that plausible explanation has been submitted by the petitioner with respect to the delay in preferring the application for modification of the order in question, the order dated 27.05.2020 passed in A.B.A. No.1205 of 2020 is modified to the extent that the period of surrender is extended for a further period of two weeks from today.
