The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities with regard to Ranaghat P.S. Case No. 948 of 2024 dated 26.11.2024. The petitioner complains that no steps have been taken by the police authorities. Report has been submitted by the State which reflects that the police authorities have already collected documents in respect of the accusations made so far as the forgery of the title deed is concerned. The report also speaks that the police authorities have recorded statements under Section 183 of the BNSS. Having regard to the fact that the Civil Court is already in seisin of the issues as also the fact that the police authorities are progressing with the investigation of the case, I direct that the investigating authorities would expedite the investigation and, if required, seek assistance of the QDEB, CID, Bhawani Bhawan for assessing regarding the correctness of the signatures and/or authenticity of the Deed of Conveyance which is the subject-matter of the criminal case. All efforts be taken to conclude the investigation within a reasonable period of time. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 10499 of 2025 is disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Report so submitted be kept with the record.
