The application under Section 147 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 is filed and it is jointly signed by the petitioner, respondent and their respective counsels. As per averments of the application, the matter is settled between parties for Rs.45,40,000/- (rupees Forty Five Lakhs Forty Thousand only) 4. The respondent reports receipt of Rs.11,90,000/- (rupees Eleven Lakhs Ninety Thousand Only), - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:24628 CRL.RP No. 808 of 2021 Rs.12,50,000/- (rupees Twelve Lakhs Fifty Thousand) and Rs.1,00,000/- (rupees One Lakhs only) total in sum of Rs.25,40,000/- (rupees Twenty Five Lakhs Forty Thousand only) from the petitioner. The petitioner has now transferred Rs.8,00,000/- (rupees Eight Lakhs only) to the respondent through RTGS and handed over three demand drafts for Rs.5,00,000/-, Rs.4,00,000/- and Rs.3,00,000/- (total a sum of Rs.12,00,000/-) each. The respondent acknowledges receipt of Rs.8,00,000/- through RTGS and receipt of three demand draft. 5. In view of the settlement, the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 is compounded.
