JUSTICE KAUSHIK GOSWAMI ORDER 21.05.2025 (Marli Vankung, J) Heard Mr. Zoramchhana, learned counsel for the appellant, who has filed the instant appeal against the Judgment & Order of the Special Judge, POCSO, Aizawl Judicial District in Sessions Case No. 82/2022 i/c Crl. Trl. No. 974/2022 arising out of All Women’s Police Station Case No. 14/2022 dated 17.02.2025, wherein the appellant was convicted under Section 5 (a) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and sentenced to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for a period of 7 years. The appellant was also convicted under Section 6/17 POCSO Act and sentenced to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for a period of 20 years and pay a fine of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) in default to undergo S.I. for 7 (seven) days vide the sentence Order dated 27.08.2025. Appeal is admitted. Issue notice to the respondents. Ms. Vanneihsiami, learned Addl. Public Prosecutor accepts notice on behalf of the State respondents.
