Arunachalam, For Respondents : Mr.K.Ramaiah, Standing Counsel O R D E R The present Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount payable towards the encashment of 135 days of earned leaves, surrendered by him in the years before his retirement either based on his monthly wages of the respective months of surrender of those earned leaves, together with 18 percent interest p.a from the respective due dates or based on the monthly wages payable on the month of his retirement, together with 18% interest from the date of his retirement. 2. Though the petitioner has retired from service on 30.04.2024, the surrender leave salary has not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondents on 20.09.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would restrict his claim of interest at the rate of 6% per annum. 5. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to release the eligible surrender leave salary to the writ petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum, from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
