JUSTICE MARLI VANKUNG ORDER 09.09.2025 Heard Mr. Johny L. Tochhawng, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. Lalnunhlui, learned Govt. Advocate. Both the learned counsels submitted that the parties have come to an amicable settlement through mediation on 04.09.2025, and thereafter, the instant writ petition may be disposed of. 2. It is seen that the instant writ petition was filed by the petitioner for payment of compensation amounting to Rs. 25,00,000/- (Rupees twenty five lakhs) along with interest @ p.a., counting from the date of electrocution of the petitioner on 06.04.2018 till the full payment of the compensation amount. The petitioner had suffered 90% permanent disability due to electrocution from a power-line owned and maintained by the respondents. 3. Both the parties, on appearing before the mediator on 05.09.2025, in Mediation Case No. 6/2025, had come to a settlement on the following terms: Page No.# 3/3 “The parties arrived at a settlement wherein the State of Mizoram (P & E Deptt, Govt. of Mizoram) agreed to pay compensation amounting to Rs, 20,00,000/- (Rupees twenty lakhs) to the petitioner within three months from the date of this order. Case is settled.” 4. This court on perusal of the terms of settlement, find it reasonable and acceptable. Accordingly, this court finds it fit to disposed of the instant writ petition in terms of the agreement reached by the parties, as highlighted herein above. 5. Thus, the writ petition No. 11/2023 stands disposed of, as the parties have come to an amicable settlement through mediation. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
