By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has, inter alia, prayed for the following relief:- “(i) That in view of the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case given above, directions may kindly be issued to respondent no.1 to hear and decide the appeal being Case No. 1Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2025:HHC:26797 231/12 pending on the records of respondent No.1 since 2012, particularly since 30.07.2012 within time frame as deemed fit by this Hon’ble Court in the interest of law and justice.” 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent No.2 has filed an Appeal against an order dated 15.06.1996, passed by Settlement Officer, in the year 2012, before the learned Divisional Commissioner, Kangra, H.P. This Appeal is undecided till date. He prays that interest of justice would be served, in case, direction is issued to the Authority to decide the same, within some reasonable time. 4. In the light of the prayer so made, this writ petition is disposed of, without any observation on the merits of the case, with the direction that the learned Divisional Commissioner shall make an endeavour to decide the Appeal, on or before 30.09.2025. In case, the date presently fixed is beyond the said date, then the case be preponed and parties be served through counsel for said purpose.
