Mahanta, the learned Senior Standing Counsel of the Gauhati High Court appears on behalf of the respondent Nos. 1, 2 and 3 and Mr. K. Bhattacharjee, the learned Government Advocate appears on behalf of the respondent No. 4. 3. The case of the petitioner herein is that his father expired on 11.09.2010 while serving as the Head Assistant in the Office of the District and Sessions Judge, Lakhimpur, Assam. At that relevant point of time, the petitioner was a minor. Be that as it may, the mother of the petitioner had applied for appointment under the compassionate appointment scheme. However, the petitioner could not collect any information as regards the application so filed by the mother. The petitioner on attaining majority had submitted an application in the year 2022. The said application having not been considered, the petitioner is before this Court. 4. This Court duly takes note of the relief so sought for in the instant proceedings. In addition to that, it is also seen that the Government of Assam had issued an Office Memorandum dated 18.09.2024, wherein it Page No.# 3/3 has been mentioned that appointment on compassionate ground to family members of State Government employees, who die in harness prior to 31.03.2017 shall not be entertained by any Administrative Department/Authority for any reason whatsoever nor be placed before SLCs/DLCs for recommendation of candidates for appointment on compassionate ground. 5. Taking into account, the said Office Memorandum dated 18.09.2024, it is the opinion of this Court that without a challenge to the said Office Memorandum the petitioner cannot be considered for appointment on compassionate grounds. 6. Accordingly, this Court finds no merits in the instant writ petition, for which, the instant writ petition stands dismissed. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
