The present writ petition is filed assailing the action of the respondent IDFC First Bank in freezing the bank account of the petitioner in Guwahati branch, G.S. Road (A/C No.10080496247). It is the case of the petitioner a balance amount of Rs.4,97,333.35 as on 31.07.2024 was available in the said bank account. Mr. Sharma on instructions submits that the bank had received a complaint from the Ministry of Home Affair with acknowledgment No.32103240009538 received on NCRP portal dated 18.04.2024. Accordingly, the bank account is marked lien to the disputed amount raised by the MHA to the tune of Rs.1,830/- only and therefore, there is no difficulty in operating the bank account by the petitioner keeping the lien of Rs.1,830/- and such lien shall be released after further instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs. In view of the aforesaid submission, the writ petition stands closed with a direction to the respondent Bank to allow the petitioner to operate his bank account as recorded hereinabove keeping the lien of Rs.1,830/- subject to final instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
