The applicant as the petitioner has preferred the connected contempt petition, Contempt Case [C] no. 581/2016 alleging violation of the direction made in the Judgment and Order dated 27.06.2006 passed in Civil Rule no. 885/1998. In view of the retirement/transfer of the incumbents holding the office of the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Higher Education Department and the Director of Higher Education, Assam, the instant interlocutory application is preferred seeking impleadment of the following persons :- ‘1. Sri Narayan Konwar, The Commissioner Secretary to the Government of Assam, Higher Education Department, Assam Secretariat, Dispur, Guwahati – 781006. 2. Smt. Pomi Baruah, The Director, Higher Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati – 781019’ as party-respondent no. 4 and party-respondent no. 5 respectively in the connected contempt petition, Contempt Case [C] no. 581/2016. Page No.# 3/3 3. Having regard to the statements and averments made in the instant interlocutory application, the instant interlocutory application is allowed. 4. The applicant who is the petitioner in the connected contempt petition, shall file an amended Cause-Title in terms of the Notification no. 79 dated 19.06.2023 within 2 [two] working days and on submission of the amended Cause-Title, the Registry to carry out the necessary corrections in the connected contempt petition as well as in the CIS and list the connected contempt petition thereafter.
