The petitioners have filed this petition seeking the following relief(s) : “10.1 By way of the present Petition under Article 228 of the Constitution of India, the Petitioners herein seeks directions to the state for providing safe-house/shelter home to the petitioner no. 2 and Alisha Khan as they REKHA SINGH Digitally signed by REKHA SINGH -2- want to exercise their fundamental right as guaranteed under the constitution of India by choosing a partner by their own volition and marrying each other under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. 10.2 That the petitioners also seek issuance of any other appropriate writ, order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper for the compliance of the final order and judgment dated 27.03.2018 passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case titled as "Shakti Vahini V. UOI" vide WP(C) No.231/2010 wherein multiple and unambiguous directions were passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India as preventive steps, remedial measures and punitive measures for protection of victims of 'Honor Killings'. 10.3 That the petitioner no.2 and Alisha Khan are a resident of the aforesaid addresses in the state of Chhattisgarh and are aggrieved by non-compliance of the final order and judgment dated 27.03.2018 passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case titled as "Shakti Vahini V. UOI" vide WP(C) No.231/2010 wherein multiple and unambiguous directions were passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India as preventive steps, remedial measures and punitive measures for protection of victims of 'Honor Killings' by the respondents constraining the petitioners to approach this Hon'ble Court for invoking the jurisdiction of this Hon'ble Court. 10.4 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to allow any other relief as the Hon'ble Court may be deemed fit and proper. 10.5 May kindly be pleased to allow the Cost of the petition.” 2. A perusal of the interim order dated 27.07.2021 would show that a direction was issued by this Court to provide security to petitioner No.2 and concerned girl so they may perform marriage. 3. It appears that after four years from the date of interim order, they would have performed marriage and in the opinion of this Court, the present petition has become infructuous.
