Petitioner has approached this Court through this writ petition for issuance of directions to the Commissioner, Azamgarh Division Azamgarh to decide the stay application filed in Appeal No. 860/M, titled Arvind Yadav Vs. District Magistrate, Mau, and stay the externment order dated 6.12.2024 passed by District Magistrate, Mau in Case No. 2715 of 2022, under Section 3(1) U.P. Control of Goondas Act, 1970, Police Station Kotwali, District Mau. During the course of hearing, it is not disputed by learned counsel for petitioner that the externment order prohibiting the petitioner for a period of three months to enter the territory of District Mau was passed on 6.12.2024, and during the pendency of his appeal against the externment order, the externment period has come to an end. Thus, the writ petition seeking directions to decide his application for stay of the externment order dated 6.12.2024 is dismissed as infructuous.
