APHC010222562025 IN THE HIGH COURT OF ANDHRA PRADESH AT AMARAVATI WP(PIL) NO: 103 of 2025 Bench Sr.No:-42 [3584] P. L. V. N. Murthy @ Murthy Yadav ...Petitioner Vs. The State of Andhra Pradesh and others ...Respondents ********** Advocate for Petitioner : Mr. K. S. Murthy, Sr. Counsel with Mr. Ponnada Sree Vyas Advocates for Respondents : GP for Municipal Administration and Urban Development – R1 Mr. A. S. C. Bose, Standing Counsel for Municipal Corporations – R2 Mr. S. Ganesh Babu, Standing Counsel for VMRDA – R4 CORAM : THE CHIEF JUSTICE LISA GILL SRI JUSTICE CHALLA GUNARANJAN DATE : 8th July 2026 P C : Grievance raised in this writ petition, filed in public interest, is that encroachment by the street vendors has been permitted by official respondents on Old Jail Road, abutting Central Park, Visakhapatnam. 2. Mr. A. S. C. Bose, learned Standing Counsel for Municipal Corporation, submits that the encroachment over the area has been removed and an effort is made to relocate the street vendors upon vacant land adjoining Central Park, opposite Women’s College. Present petitioner has, in 2 W.P.(PIL) No.103 of 2025 his individual capacity, subsequently filed W.P.No.13090 of 2026 challenging said action while taking a plea that relocation has been carried out partly upon another park. Said writ petition is pending adjudication. 3. The conceded position is that, as of now, encroachment on the jail road has been removed; therefore, this writ petition is indeed rendered infructuous. Therefore, without commenting upon subsequent litigation as has been initiated by petitioner, proceedings in present writ petition are closed. 4. Writ Petition (PIL) is accordingly disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed.
