Applicant versus State Of Chhattisgarh Through The Station House OfÏcer Police Of Police Station Bodhghat District - Bastar Palce Jagdalpur (C.G.) ... Non-applicant For Applicants : None For Non-applicant : Ms. Ankita Shukla, Panel Lawyer. Hon'ble Shri Ramesh Sinha , Chief Justice Order on Board 10.01. 2025 1. This is an ofÏce reference. 2. This Court, vide order dated 28.08.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5978 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Smt. Sevika Netam, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Bastar, Place Jagdalpur, (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 23.12.2024 has requested for grant of KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 four months time for concluding the trial. 4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that in this case, the present presiding ofÏcer took charge on 14/08/2023. From the time, the code of conduct was imposed for the assembly elections in November 2023 and the Lok Sabha elections in March-April 2024, till the completion of the elections, the summons issued to the prosecution witnesses and bailable/arrest warrants were not served. Since in NDPS Act cases, most of the witnesses are related to the police department, due to this reason, the trial could not be completed within a prescribed time. Therefore, he prays for grant of further four months time for concluding the trial. 5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months from today. 6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha) Chief Justice Kunal
