The contention of the petitioner is that she inherited the rights to do pooja from one Karuppasamy. The said Karuppasamy is one of the devotees of Sri Nithyanandhaswamigal Ponnambalaswamigal for which the petitioner had relied on the contents of the suit filed by one Shanmugasundaram. The said Shanmugasundaram has claimed that their ancestors are the original owner of the property and they have right over the temple and had filed a suit in O.S.No.545 of 2022 on the file of Munsif Court, Tirunelveli. The said facts are stated in the affidavit filed by one Pon Rathna, who has filed a Writ Petition in W.P.Crl.(MD) No.2711 of 2011 inter alia, praying to forbear the respondent Police from interfering in the duties of the said Pon Rathana as Trustee to Administer the Sri Nithyanandhaswamigal Ponnambalaswamigal Temple situated at Korangu Mada Theru, Puthupettai, Tirunelveli District. 3. In the present petition, the petitioner claims the right as a poojari / devotee to conduct Guru Pooja and worship. The petitioner has not claimed any right to administer Sri Nithyanandhaswamigal Ponnambalaswamigal Temple. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Crl.(MD) NO. 2635 of 2025 4. Therefore, this Court is of the considered view that any person who is a descendant and devotee of Sri Nithyanandhaswami Ponnambalaswamigal is entitled to worship in the said temple. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner. The petitioner is permitted to conduct the Guru Pooja and worship in the said and up to 50 persons may accompany her. The petitioner shall not raise any provocative slogans. The petitioner and the 3rd respondent shall not create any law and order problem. 5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
