ORAL ORDER The petitioner is a badminton player who has represented the State of Karnataka and India in International Tournaments. The petitioner is the national champion in men’s singles in the years 2002 and 2011 and he was ranked number one in India for many years between 2002 to 2015. Since the petitioner is entitled for an allotment of a residential site under the sports quota, the petitioner has made an application to the respondent-BDA in the year 2010. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as far back as 26.04.2011 a site was identified for allotment in favour of the petitioner, in terms of

Annexure-D. However, the said site was allotted to some other person. Several representations have been made by the petitioner to the respondent-BDA, but of no avail. 2. Learned counsel for the respondent-BDA submits on instructions that the representations given by the petitioner, more particularly, at Annexure-S dated 12.02.2025 will be considered in accordance with law. 3.
Consequently, the writ petition stands disposed of with a specific direction to the Commissioner, Bengaluru Development Authority, to consider the application filed by the petitioner in the year 2010 and all the representations given by the petitioner including the latest one, i.e., 12.02.2025 at Annexure-S, and proceed to allot a site to the petitioner in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
