HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - A No. - 2239 of 2025 Court No. - 4 HON'BLE AJIT KUMAR, J. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Standing Counsel. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus to command the respondents to make payment of GPF amount along with interest which according to the petitioner should be @ 18%. Per contra it is argued by learned counsel for the Principal Accountant General, U.P., Prayagraj as well as Ratan Deep Mishra, learned Standing Counsel that initially the amount was calculated as Rs. 5,77,269/- towards the GPF with additional interest of Rs. 45,027/- till March 2019 and thus, the total amount calculated was Rs. 6,22,296/- which was directed to be paid under the order of Principal Accountant General dated 27.03.2025. It is contended that 90% of the amount was to paid on 22.05.2025 and for remaining 10% the amount was paid along with interest on 03.07.2025. According to learned counsel for the respondents, petitioner has been paid statutory interest upon delayed payment of GPF amount and if calculated as per final Pension Payment Order it will come to the tune of Rs. 7,47,808/- as against the principal amount of provident fund Rs. 5,77,269/-. Thus, according to him, no more dues remain unpaid towards the GPF. Learned counsel for the petitioner though sought to contest the matter but upon pleadings raised by the respective parties, I do not find any good ground for the petition to survive any more as the petitioner has been paid Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Archana Singh, Prem Shankar Kushwaha Counsel for Respondent(s) : Bal Mukund, C.S.C. Dr. Amar Singh Kushwaha .....Petitioner(s) State Of U.P. And 4 Others .....Respondent(s) statutory interest as prescribed for and hence in my considered view the writ petition has rendered infructuous. Accordingly, the writ petition is consigned to records. September 9, 2025 IrfanUddin WRIA No. 2239 of 2025 2 (Ajit Kumar,J.)
