His son Nishan Singh was married to Baljinder Kaur and the couple had strained relations, due to which the latter left her matrimonial home about 7/8 years ago. He had three children out of the wedlock. Nishan Singh had been residing at Bhai Manjh Sahib Road, Amritsar, on a rented premises. Nishan Singh’s elder daughter, Anureet Kaur, got engaged to Jugraj Singh and the marriage was fixed for 19.09.2025. brought it to the complainant’s knowledge that the petitioner, Lovepreet Singh, was harassing his daughter, Anureet Kaur, by uploading her photos on his mobile phone and pressuring her to marry him. On 10.09.2025 at 9.01 PM, Sabhi, a friend of Nishan Singh, informed the complainant on the mobile phone that Nishan Singh had committed suicide by hanging himself, due to harassment meted out to him by the petitioner. On the basis of said statement, the present FIR was got registered against the petitioner.
